Job Summary The Pre-Install Level I Technician will perform the professional installation of a variety of hardware on commercial doors at CIH and occasionally at CIH customer sites.
The Pre-Install Level I Technician is responsible and accountable for:
  • Maintaining a safe, productive, and timely work environment for both self and team member(s).
  • Having a professional and positive attitude in all activities.
  • Following direction and guidance of CIH Service / Install Coordinator and or Service Manager for all work performed and complete duties as assigned.
  • Good workmanship in all activities including installation of door hardware and thorough daily cleanup to the pre-install department.
  • Coordination with CIH Service Install Coordinator and or Service Manager, as required to ensure the work is completed properly and in alignment with customer expectations.
  • Seeks out training on new skills and installation techniques and diligently listens and consistently applies knowledge gained to grow expertise as a CIH pre-install technician.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Service Install Coordinator and or Service & Installation Manager
Essential Functions
  1. Participate in any and all applicable training opportunities for both safety and this position.
  2. Install, fabricate, and prep commercial hollow metal/wood doors, with associated hardware.
  3. Report daily job progress to Service Install Coordinator.
  4. Reviewing packing slips and materials to assure suitability for the intended application before starting work.
  5. Work a flexible schedule as needed when work dictates.
Experience & Other Requirements
  • No relevant experience required; some construction experience preferred.
  • Ability to utilize a tape measure and level, preferred.
  • Meet or exceed the skill requirements of this position.
  • Pre-employment background and drug screening
  • No issue with repetitive use of fingers and hands, standing, squatting, bending and lifting up to 40lbs.
  • Able to work at heights off of ladders, scaffolding, lifts, platforms, etc.
  • Basic computer skills
  • OSHA 10 preferred, but not required
