Job Summary — Review and interpret architectural specifications as well as blueprints along with salesman estimating instructions to determine the material to complete bids for wood doors, hollow metal doors/frames, hardware, aluminum storefront and automatic door openers timely for bid submission.

Job Summary — Review and interpret architectural specifications as well as blueprints along with salesman estimating instructions to determine the material to complete bids for wood doors, hollow metal doors/frames, hardware, aluminum storefront and automatic door openers timely for bid submission.
The Estimator is responsible and accountable for:
- Importing take-off data, including number of openings and schedules of material
- Reviewing documents for consistent and accurate product application, submit RFI’s
- when appropriate
- Building accurate estimate of doors, frames, and hardware incorporating vendor quotes
- for discounting (request & review quotes from vendor for accuracy)
- Seeking out Addenda prior to submission to validate correctness of estimate
- Communicating detailed qualifications for bid submission
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, including specifications and blueprints.
- Knowledge of commercial construction.
- Use of Bluebeam and Comsense software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Applications.
- Respectful, open, and effective communication with coworkers.
- 3+ years of door, frame and hardware industry experience preferred
- Pre-employment background and drug screening
- No issue with repetitive use of fingers and hands, sitting for long periods, and long periods of computer usage
- Moderate computer skills. Experience with Comsense, Bluebeam, and/or CAD/PDF editor is a plus.
